Since there is not a Biblical authority for the state being involved in education, the creation of a Christian school under the direction of the church serves as an extension of the home in assisting the parents in fulfilling their responsibility to “train up” their children. This is where General Assembly Academy enters the picture.
Our Purpose:
It has always been a part of God’s plan that parents are ultimately responsible for the education and development of their children. The general purpose of General Assembly Academy is to assist parents with the moral and spiritual training of their children as we provide technical assistance to the parent and child in mastering academic skills and concepts.
“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6
“And ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.” Ephesians 6:4
“And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children.” Deuteronomy 6:7
Our Mission:
We are training students to take a message to this world, a message that this world does not want to hear. That is why we are training. We are training soldiers of the cross so that they can go out and fulfill the Great Commission. We are not training students to fit into this world. We are not training students to merely do well in this world
We are teaching students that they are bought with a price, and that Jesus Christ has first and total claim of them.
We are teaching students that the most important thing is knowing what to do, and when to do it. That takes heavenly, Godly wisdom. It does not take great intellect. It only takes obedience.
